U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) Country Director – China Zhang Xiaoping talks about the history of the U.S. soy industry in China. Over the past 35 years, U.S. soy has built a strong partnership with China. Chinese buyers appreciate U.S. soy for its timely delivery, consistent quality, sustainability, essential amino acid content, plus the U.S. soy industry’s trade and technical services. Prior to the 2017 U.S. Soy Global Trade Exchange, a signing between U.S. exporters and Chinese importers took place, representing 3.8 million metric tons of U.S. soy, valued at $3.8 billion. This was the second signing between U.S. soy and China in two months, and Zhang says these public signing ceremonies signal China’s confidence in and preference for U.S. soy.
