U.S. Soy Exports to North Asia Expected to Remain Strong

U.S. Soybean Export Council Regional Director – North Asia Paul Burke talks about the importance of the North Asia market to the U.S. Soy industry and forecasts demand to remain steady. Currently, North Asia buys more than 30 percent of the entire U.S. soybean crop, led by Chinese purchases.

Prior to the 2017 U.S. Soy Global Trade Exchange, 11 Chinese purchasing agreements were signed with 5 U.S. soybean exporters for 3.8 million metric tons of soy, valued at $1.561 billion.

The U.S. Soy Global Trade Exchange is the U.S. Soybean Export Council’s flagship event, bringing together international trade teams and U.S. Soy industry representatives. The 2017 event, held in Omaha, Nebraska, welcomed more than 250 qualified buyers from around the world.
