Infrastructure and transportation are key competitive advantages for U.S. soy, says Mac Marshall, United Soybean Board (USB) and U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) vice president of market intelligence, on location at the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest.
“One of the crown jewels of the American agricultural complex is our infrastructure, our ability to move product around in an efficient, timely, and reliable manner,” says Marshall. So far this marketing year, the Columbia River has carried a record 9.5 million metric tons (MMT) of soybeans.
