The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Economic Research Service (ERS) released its Agriculture Resources and Environmental Indicators, 2019 report on May 7.
The report, which describes trends in economic, resource, and environmental indicators in the U.S. agriculture sector, is divided into three main sections. In the second segment, “Farm Production and Management,” ERS looks at the sustainability of U.S agriculture, including topics such as biotechnology, seed use, and pest control for major U.S. crops; pest and nutrient management; irrigated agriculture; precision agriculture; crop production management and tillage practices; organic farming systems; manure management; and antibiotic use in U.S. livestock production.
