U.S. soybean farmers use innovative technology to continuously improve the sustainability of their crops. With support from qualified state soybean boards (QSSBs), farmers learn how to incorporate management practices best suited for their region.

For example, the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board offers guidance to use water monitoring systems to improve irrigation water management to produce high-yielding, high-quality soybeans. In this video overview of the research project, irrigation engineer Chris Henry, Ph.D. with the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture, explains how monitors, sensors, data collection, a mobile app and more combine to reduce water, fuel use, and costs, improving sustainability.
