Brent Babb, USSEC Regional Director – EU/MENA, says that 25 countries import U.S. soy in his region. U.S soybean meal is prized for its high quality of amino acids and energy. Sustainability is very important in the EU and is gaining in importance in the Middle East. Babb explains how the U.S. Soy Sustainability Assurance Protocol (SSAP) builds on conservation work that U.S. farmers have done for over 80 years. Last year, 5 percent of traded soy in the world was SSAP-certified.
