The methods and conditions under which soybean meal is processed can greatly impact the nutritional quality of its protein. To a lesser degree, carbohydrate and other components may also be affected.

The Processing Condition Indicator (PCI), developed by Evonik, includes key parameters that measure processing conditions.

According to data, the quality of U.S. soybean meal is more consistent when considering the PCI values of the meal. This uniformity translates into additional value when considering the overall nutritional bundle of the meal.
